The Stewart Memorial Fountain - a French Gothic fountain, in the style of William Burges. A work of celebratory sculpture, it is the centrepiece of Kelvingrove Park's eastern limb. Sculpture by Mossman. The fountain commemorates Lord Provost Stewart who was largely responsible for devising the city's water supply from Loch Katrine. The sculptures on the fountain are apparently inspired by Sir Walter Scott's poem 'The Lady of the Lake'.
