While a student at the Mac & GSA I too became interested in this park. As a result I have made some pictures, a short video, and built a virtual 3D park which you can move around in. These can be seen by going to http://www.i3d.info

Hi I'm a 2nd year media student at Glasgow Caledonian University. As part of a video production module my group has to produce a 10 minute documentary. We would like to film the ongoing issues surrounding the Band stand in Kelvingrove Park. Any contact details would be great!

Similar to Darrens entry below, I am currently a 5th year architecture student, and i'm looking into outdoor performance spaces in scotland, particularly the redevelopment of both Glasgow's Kelvingrove bandstand and Edinburgh's Ross bandstand, with the intention to prepare nation/citywide strategy, possibly with focus on reinstating the ampitheatre (or a similar venue) in Glasgow's Queens Park. Any advice or opinions on any of the above would be greatly appreciated! Cheers.. Jen

I share the concern expressed in the Herald in recent days over developments in Victoria Park and other green spaces in Glasgow. What is important to realise is that many parks (including I would suggest - Kelvingrove, Victoria and Glasgow Green) belong to the citizens of Glasgow and not to the Council. This is because they form part of the Common Good of the City and the Council, whilst they hold title, hold it on behalf of the citizens and have legal duties to administer it in their interests. I am concerned that Common Good assets may be disappearing in Glasgow since in a recent survey I undertook, the Council failed to include any park (even Glasgow Green) among the assets they held under the Common Good Account. Perhaps, as is being advocated in England, it is time to allow local people to take back ownership of such assets?
